What is This 30 Day Challenge that will change Your life?
December 03, 2019
According to James Clear, author of Atomic Habits: "On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances. In Lally's study, it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days for people to form a new habit." (You can read the full article here.)
With that being said, a simple 30 Day Challenge can cause a large change in your life.
My goal is to empower people and teach them to "Make Yourself A Priority". After reading Atomic Habits I personally started to look at challenges differently.
How tiny things daily can change the lives we live. So what if you actually did try one of those 30 Day Challenges that would inspire you to reach for more than you've ever had before?
Could a simple 30 Day Challenge actually change your life?
I'm 22 Years old at the time of me writing this, however I think it a joke to just submit and believe that "You get to work until you're 65 and then hopefully you can retire".
And then it hit me, What if rather than setting out a super long term goal like "i'll be able to retire around 65". What if I set the goal to I'm going to get as close to retirement in 30 days as possible.
What would I produce? My thinking was that with the internet, there is an infinite amount of ways to make a living and even replace your own 9-5 job. The only thing is-- how much energy do you focus on it.
A short while later I came across this video on Youtube from VYBO
As if a key to test my new philosophy. A Golden Ticket.
For me at this point in my life-- I feel very creative. I'm connecting and creating deeper meaning behind everything I observe.
So I took the concept from the video that I learned and also decided to join the challenge while inviting others to join me as well.
I invite you to do the same, its never too late to change your life.
Some might say- is simply setting a goal enough?
I say even Katy Perry knew that setting a solid goal was enough to become successful. She sang about it in her song "Roar". "I stood for nothing, so I feel for everything".
Think about it like this, If you have a solid goal in your mind. You do everything in your power to achieve that goal, you develop a will power to strive forward and turn down temptations as well.
You can practice this by going vegan or vegetarian for a minimum of 7 days. (Try one for the 30 Day Challenge). The lesson you learn will be how to exercise your willpower and actually turn down temptations by bringing self awareness to your goal of trying to maintain your newly claimed identity. "I am a vegan, or I am a Vegetarian".
Translate this into setting your goals for any aspect of your life. Watch what happens.
